When a liquid is flowing through a tube, what is the flow rate proportional too?

Quick Facts:
Subglottic Stenosis
-Subglottic stenosis is primarily due to prolonged ETT.
-Pressure necrosis of subglottic mucosa-->edema and ulceration-->infection and perichondritis-->granulation tissue and fibrous depositions occur.
-Most important factor is duration of intubation.
-Several factors have reduced incidence:
        -use of uncuffed polyvinylchloride tubes
-use of smaller tubes to reduce pressure on the subglottic mucosa
-nasotracheal intubation (less frictional trauma and better tube fixation)
